My role was to document the underwater cleanups and bring to the surface through my lens all that exists in the sea and unfortunately the world ignores it.

After the publication of my first photos the public response was huge and this led to a viral spread by dozens of sites and newspapers on social media proving once again how powerful a medium photography is!

Most of “Blue Halkidiki” this year was dedicated to cleaning the harbor in “Porto Coufo”. Last year’s accidental discovery of an underwater dump inside the harbor could not leave anyone indifferent, and this led to the entire team focusing there! The result of the effort was the collection of 7 tons of waste of all kinds from the bottom!

A huge well done to everyone who contributed to this effort in any way. The Greek Eco Project once again showed the way to a better future.
