I'm very pleased to announce that my photograph of the tiny jellyfish ``Pandea conica``, which was competing with 51 more POTW winners for the title Wetpixel Picture of the Year 2011, won the second place and a great prize!

Wetpixel Online provides the latest information on underwater photography and videography, and features up-to-date news, articles, equipment reviews, photo contests, dive expeditions, and a registered community of over 13,500 underwater photographers who span the globe.

Wetpixel is owned and published by Eric Cheng and edited by Adam Hanlon with help from Matt Segal, Alex Mustard, Cor Bosman, and a dedicated group of volunteer moderators. Every week Wetpixel helds an online competition open to voting with stuning photos of very high quality, diversity and talent. The POTW winners were the contestants on the Picture of the Year 2011 competition.
I want to congratulate the first winner Alexis Tabah, with his turtle in Snell’s window, the third winner Dany Weinberg and off course all Picture of the Week winners.
The competition has received a staggering amount of public interest, with the winning images getting over 2,500 votes each, so I want to warmly thank all the people that voted my photograph and helped me win the second place.
My prize is an DS161 strobe from Ikelite, a very useful gadget that I plan to use very creatively and I am already scheduling several underwater shootings as soon as I receive it!
