Award Winning in “Our World Underwater” 2013 Photo Contest.

Our World Underwater 2013

I am excited to announce that I am between the winners of Our World Underwater 2013 Contest.

This competition is more known as the “Superbowl” of underwater imaging events, celebrating and highlighting both art of underwater photography and beauty of the ocean. The contest attracted over 1500 entries from around the world and according to the Judges’ the standard was pretty high this year.

My photograph with the silhouette of a seahorse in sunset light titled “Swimming in the Sunset” has won Bronze in the Macro Traditional category.
The “Traditional” divisions allow for the adjustment of brightness, contrast, color, and sharpness only. Cropping, cloning, and other digital manipulation is not allowed in this category. This restriction on digital manipulation enables people who are not as savvy at Photoshop to compete on more-or-less even ground as those with more experience. It also highlights composition and lighting skills by not allowing cropping and cloning. So winning in this specific category is for an underwater photographer much more significant and important than winning in any other category!
It’s important to mention that this year the panel of judges consisted by some of World’s Top class names in the underwater photography industry as Berkley White, Alexander Mustard, Keri Wilk and Vincent Laforet!! Awarded from this panel is truly a great honor!!
Winners were announced live on stage during the Our World Underwater film festival in Chicago.
